The third series of British comedy-drama television series Cold Feet was first broadcast on the ITV network from November 12 to December 26, 2000. Eight episodes written by Mike Bullen and David Nicholls, produced by Christine Langan and Spencer Campbell, and directed by Simon Delaney, Jon Jones, and Tim Whitby. The storyline, which focuses on three pairs, continues from the end of the second series; Adam Williams and Rachel Bradley (James Nesbitt and Helen Baxendale) tried to conceive their first child, and married at the end of the series; Pete and Jenny Gifford (John Thomson and Fay Ripley) have split up after having an affair with a co-worker. They dated different people throughout the series but reconciled in the final episode. After Karen Marsden (Hermione Norris) gave birth to twins, her husband David (Robert Bathurst) had an affair with local political activists, who marred their marriage.
Bullen withdrew from writing the series during pre-production, believing no new storyline could be created for the characters. David Nicholls is one of five authors hired to write the series; when four other authors were dismissed by producer Granada Television because their script was not up to standard, Bullen re-wrote half the series. The eighth episode is the highest ranking of the series, getting 9.66 million viewers on its Boxing Day broadcast. The series won the English Comedy Award the following year, and was nominated for the Royal Television Society award, the Banff Rockie award, and the International Emmy Award. Fay Ripley received a nomination for the British Television Academy Award for Best Actress.

The episodes suffered ITV's final decision to include a third commercial break into the evening program; like many other series that have completed post-production, the Cold Feet editors were forced to change their episodes to allow for additional rest. Writing in the magazine Revolution , John Owen, head of media company Starcom, criticized the fact that up to 25 ads are now appearing during the show. Allied Domecq, which has sponsored two previous Cold Feet series with their Cockburn's Port brand, has not renewed their contract with Granada. Granada Ventures negotiated a new sponsorship deal with United Airlines, which is estimated at £ 1.5 million. The first two episodes were broadcast as a two hour episode on November 12th. Episode 8, featuring the wedding of Adam and Rachel, was broadcast on Boxing Day - the first time the show aired on Tuesday.
