The Grove Christmas Tree is a 100-foot Christmas tree that is lit annually at The Grove at Farmer's Market in Los Angeles, California. In 2002, it was the tallest Christmas tree in the Los Angeles area and attracted about 90,000 visitors every day during the holiday season.

History
The Grove Christmas Tree lighting tradition took place in mid-November after it was started in 2002 by real estate developer and entrepreneur Rick J. Caruso. He aims to make the tree the centerpiece of his retail and entertainment complex, The Grove in Los Angeles, during the Christmas season. In time, the popularity of the annual lighting ceremony finally rivaled the famous Rockefeller Center Christmas Lighting tree in downtown Manhattan, New York. The Grove Christmas Tree measures 100 to 110 feet while the Rockefeller Center tree is only about 75 to 90 feet.
The first white pine used for the occasion was harvested from the Mount Shasta area in Northern California in 2010. The following year, a 100-foot white pine adorned with over 10,000 lamps and 15,000 ornaments, set a precedent for successive Christmas trees for The Grove at Farmer's Market.

Among the players who have graced the event are the opera Il Divo and Jackie Evancho, pop singer The Backstreet Boys, Michael Bolton, Far East Movement, Colbie Caillat, Sean Kingston, Gavin DeGraw and Robin Thicke and American Idol Lauren Alaina alumni, Scotty McCreery, and Phillip Phillips. Top Caruso Top Dancers, Rachel Montez Collins and Kathryn Burns also show off their famous acting. Insider and celebrity insider Mario Lopez hosted the annual celebrations.
For the 10th anniversary of Christmas tree lighting, The Grove partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for the "Season of Desire" campaign. Christmas lights and trinkets covered the white pine and everything at The Grove. The evening showed off artificial snow, bubbles, and fireworks show.
KCBS-TV, a regional affiliate of Los Angeles (and West Coast main station) from CBS, broadcasts The Grove Christmas Tree lighting every year. It is syndicated to hundreds of television stations across the United States, including most stations owned and operated by the CBS network and other affiliates as well.
