A shoe tree is a device that is close to the foot shape placed inside the shoe to maintain its shape, stopping it from the occurrence of the crease and thus extending the life of the shoe. This is a reusable alternative to clumps or newspapers.
Perhaps more important than maintaining its shape, the shoe tree also plays an important part of wicking away the moisture that damages the skin from the inside. This is especially important when shoes are worn without socks, because the sweat absorbed by the skin can cause a foul layer.
High-quality shoe trees are made of solid wood, usually cedar, which helps control odor and absorbs moisture. Other materials include beech, lime and alderwood. Although most shoe tree manufacturers claim that cedar wood is superior, there really is no difference as long as the shoe tree is made of unfinished wood.

Jenis
Among the wooden shoe trees, there are generally three categories, which correspond to price and quality.
Spring shoe tree
The cheapest is a wooden shoe tree with no full heels. Although they help with odors, and will help maintain the original shape on the front of the shoe, the narrow button on the heel puts excess pressure on one part of the heel and long-term use can damage the shoe.
Advanced shoe tree
The mid-range shoe tree has a fully articulated heel (usually round) and sometimes has a ventilation slot on the toes to help steam evaporate. This is usually made of 3 parts: the heel, head, and smaller foot pieces. This is close to the shape of your feet, so they are better at maintaining the structural integrity of your shoe compared to the shoe-shaped tree in general.
Last shoe tree
At the highest range is a sustainable shoe tree, which accompanies the last shoe they have.
Plastic shoe tree
The shoe tree can also be made of plastic or patterned metal sheets, with or without a circular steel spring rod; this is usually cheaper, lighter, and more suitable for traveling. A type that does not have a flexible steel spring can use an adjustable extension or adjustable two-piece spring that has mechanical action over the center to split it. Plastic shoe trees retain the shape of your shoes, but do not have the moisture quality of the wooden shoe.

When to use
You should enter a shoe tree as soon as you take off your shoes so they can absorb the moisture from your sweat and dry your shoes in the right shape. This will prevent the rotting layer and folds from holding your skin. You should also include a shoe tree if you wet your shoes so they can dry out faster. While some recommend having a pair of shoe trees for each shoe, others believe they are not needed once they have done their job of absorbing moisture, usually after 24 hours 'rest'.
Boot tree
The boot tree is a shoe tree for boots. The wrinkles formed in the calf boots can eventually lead to a broken zipper, and zipper replacement can be a costly repair. By investing in a pair of boot trees, repairs like this can easily be avoided.
