Plot
Each penguin emperor sings a unique song called "heartsong" to attract a partner. If the male penguin heartong matches the female song, the two penguins mate. Norma Jean, a female penguin, falls to Memphis, a male penguin and they become a couple. They laid the eggs, left in Memphis's care, while Norma Jean went with the other female fish for a fishing trip. While men struggled through the harsh winter, Memphis briefly dropped the eggs. As a result, their son, Mumble, can not sing, but he can knock dance instead. Nevertheless, she is captivated by Gloria, the female penguin who is considered the most gifted of her age. One day, Mumble meets a group of hostile skua, with a leader marked with a yellow band, which he says comes from an alien abduction. Mumble almost escaped the hungry bird by falling into the gap.
Now a young adult, Mumble is often laughed at by elders. After escaping from a leopard seal attack, Mumble befriends a group of Adelie penguins called "Amigos", who embrace the Mumble dance movement and assimilate him into their group. After seeing human excavators hidden in an avalanche, they chose to ask Lovelace, the penguin rockhopper, about his origins. Lovelace has a six pack of plastic wrapped around his neck, which he claims has been given to him by a mystical creature.
For the emperor penguin, this is the breeding season and Gloria is the center of attention. RamÃÆ'ón, one of Amigos, tries to help Mumble win his affection by singing the Spanish version of "My Way", with Mumble's lips sync, but his plan fails, and Gloria finds it embar. In desperation, Mumble begins to dance tap in tune with his song. He falls in love with her and the young penguins join in to sing and dance to "Boogie Wonderland". The elders were shocked by Mumble's behavior, which they consider to be the reason for their lean fish season. Memphis begged Mumble to stop dancing, for his own sake, but when Mumble refused, he was exiled, encouraging him to curse revenge on the elders for their blind faith.
Mumble and Amigos return to Lovelace, only to find him strangled by a plastic ring. Lovelace admits they stuck to him while swimming off the forbidden beach, outside the land of a sea elephant. Not long in their journey, they meet with Gloria, who wants to join Mumble as her partner. Frightened of his safety, he mocks Gloria, driving him away.
On the forbidden beach, the group found a fishing boat. Mumble pursued alone into the abyss of exhaustion. He was finally stranded on the coast of Australia, where he was rescued and housed in Marine World with Magellan penguins. After a long, isolated cage other than without results trying to communicate with humans, he almost gave up on madness. When a girl tries to interact with Mumble by tapping the glass, she begins to dance, which attracts a large crowd. He was released back into the wild, with a tracking device attached to his back. He returned to the colony and challenged the elders' will. Memphis made peace with him, just as the research team arrived, proving the claim of "alien" existence to reality. The entire colony, even Noah, the leader of the elders, was involved in the dance.
The research team restored their expedition record, pushing the debate around the world. The government realizes that they are overreacting, causing the ban of all Antarctic fish. At this time, the emperor and Amigos penguins celebrate.

Production
George Miller cites as the initial inspiration for the film to meet a grizzled old cameraman whose father was Frank Hurley of the Shackleton expedition, during the shooting of Mad Max 2: "We sat at this bar, had a milkshake, and he looked at me and said, 'Antarctica.' He once filmed a documentary there, saying, 'You have to make a movie in Antarctica, it's like here in the empty land. And it always sticks in my head. "
Happy Feet was also inspired by previous documentaries like the BBC Life in the Freezer . In 2001, during a non-sequitur meeting, Doug Mitchell impulsively featured Warner Bros., studio president Alan Horn with a rough initial draft of the movie scenario, and asked them to read it while he and Miller flew back to Australia. By the time they landed, Warner had decided to provide funds for the film. Production is scheduled to begin sometime after the fourth movie Madmi's Fury Road , but geo-political complications push Happy Feet to the forefront early in the year 2003.
The previous piece of the film appears to have included a large subplot of alien in an extraterrestrial sense, whose presence is gradually becoming increasingly recognized throughout the world, and which plans to suck up planetary resources gradually, placing humans in the same light. as penguins. Ultimately, through the suffering of the main character, their hands remain and, instead, the first contact is made. It was cut during the final year of production, and has not seen the light of day in completed form, although the art concept of this sequence was exhibited at the Siggraph 2007 demonstration, and is available online, as well.
This animation is widely invested in motion capture technology, with a dance scene played by human dancers. The tap dance for Mumble is specifically provided by Savion Glover who is also a co-choreographer for the dance series. The dancers go through "Penguin School" to learn how to move like a penguin, and also wear headgear to imitate penguin's beak.
Happy Feet requires a large group of computers, and Animal Logic works with IBM to build a server farm with sufficient processing potential. This movie takes four years to make. Ben Gunsberger, Superintendent of Lighting and Supervisors of the VFX Department, says this is partly because they need to build new infrastructure and equipment. The server farm uses the IBM BladeCenter framework and BladeCenter HS20 blade server, which is a very compact, separate computer unit, each with two Intel Xeon processors. Rendering took 17 million CPU hours over a period of nine months.
According to Miller, the message of the environment is not a major part of the original script, but "In Australia, we are very, very aware of the ozone hole," he said, "and Antarctica is literally a walnut in a coal mine for these things. that direction. "This influence causes films with a more eco-friendly tone. Miller said, "You can not tell a story about Antarctica and penguins without giving that dimension."
The film is dedicated to the memories of Nick Enright, Michael Jonson, Robby McNeilly Green, and Steve Irwin.
