Michael Flatley discovered his first fame starring in Riverdance , but he left the show in late 1995 because of a conflict over creative control. He dreams, and acts, plans to compose dance performances that can play in the arena and stadium instead of traditional theater. Then, Flatley immediately starts thinking about the rhythm pattern and the steps for the number a cappella . This number will become "The Irish Planet", the end of the event. The show takes six months to take it from concept to stage. Auditions are held at the SFX City Theater in Dublin.

Show
Lord of the Dance had a preview show at Point Theater in Dublin from June 28 to July 1, 1996. The show premiered on June 27, 1996 - the video was recorded on July 2, 1996. The story follows the character " Lord of the Dance "and his fight against the evil dark ruler" Don Dorcha "took over the Irish Planet. The "Lord of the Dance" defeats the invasion of the dark master with the help of a little spirit. There is also a story with the theme "love vs lust" expressed through dance throughout the show. "Saoirse, Irish CailÃÆ'n" fought for the love of "Lord of the Dance" against the bad guy "Morrighan, the Temptress". The stories are based on ancient Irish folklore and some biblical references; the title itself, together with a central musical theme, is derived from contemporary hymns.
In March 1997, Lord of the Dance was performed at the Oscars. That November, Lord of the Dance expanded its operations by forming several dance groups that will tour North America and Europe. Flatley signed with Disney for Lord of the Dance to appear at Epcot at Walt Disney World in the summer of 1999 and Lord of the Dance was reissued the following summer in 2000. Troupe 4 performed at the Disneyland Paris Resort in 2002 and 2003. There are currently two world-class Lord of the Dance tours of production: Troupe 1, currently on tour throughout Europe and Asia and Troupe 2, US tour and Canada including Europe as well.
Feet of Flames
On July 25, 1998 after two years of touring, Flatley created the Feet of Flames , an expanded version of Lord of the Dance . Feet of Flames took its dancers from all the entourage and put them together, totaling almost 100. The final stage was 180 feet wide (55 m) with various levels. The show was held before 25,000 people at Hyde Park London. Special feature is a dance solo by Flatley without music. It was supposed to be the last time Flatley danced directly on stage, but a different version of the show would later tour in 2000-01 (only one entourage appeared on this tour). The show at Hyde Park was the last time Michael Flatley danced in "Lord of the Dance", he was going to do the World Tour 'Feet of Flames', and thereafter Celtic Tiger. The 10th Lord of the Dance Dance Party was held in June 2006.
