Generasi pertama (2006-2013)

The first generation Grand C4 Picasso, seven seater, was launched in November 2006 and was produced until March 2013, when the second generation took over. This vehicle has the same platform and engine range as CitroÃÆ'¡n C4 and Peugeot 307. The car was officially revealed at the Paris Motor Show on September 30, 2006.

The five seater C4 Picasso was officially unveiled in early January 2007, launched in February, and featured at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Both vehicles feature a large panoramic windshield and thin door pillars, to improve the driver's field of vision, eliminate blind spots, and increase the amount of light inside the front cabin. In addition to the front solar visor, both vehicles have two curtains installed to reduce glare and unwanted lights for the driver and front passenger.

Grand C4 Picasso is slightly larger than its nearest seven-seat MPV rivals, such as the Mazda5 and Opel/Vauxhall Zafira Tourer, and smaller than previous big MPVs such as CitroÃÆ''n Evasion and Opel Sintra.

This vehicle has five hundred liters of boot capacity and 1,951 liters with all the rear seats down.

Rear parking sensors are only available in Exclusive trim.

The pneumatic rear suspension is available as an option, which makes the ride smoother and can lower the threshold. In some markets, this option is only available at higher trim levels.

Security

The first generation C4 Picasso will be tested by the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) is an LHD model from 2006. It received a five star rating overall due to its design and standard safety features, including: front airbag for driver and passenger, knee air bag driver, side air bag, and side airbag.

The vehicle was punished in a collision test for the risk of foot injuries caused by the dash, and for driver's chest injuries in side effects. In the impact test front, the child holds himself in the back seat, advances forward, hits the baby's head of the doll in the driver's seat, and loses all the head protection points for the doll.

Reliability

Printing 111 points on the United Kingdom Reliability Index, the Picasso C4 is considered unreliable when compared to an average vehicle score of 100, while a highly reliable 60 or below vehicle scores.

The average age and repair costs of the Picassos C4 tested were 40 months and Ã, Â £ 325. 58.62% of the repair costs were attributed to the axles and suspensions, while air conditioning and transmission improvements were rare and displayed at the bottom of the list at 0% each.

Between October 2010 and September 2011, the pass rate of the MOT test for C4 Picasso was 71.2%, compared with an average of 56.8% for all CitroÃÆ'¡n vehicles. Any service interval of 12,500-20,000 miles (depending on the machine) or 2 years, whichever occurs first. Second generation (2013-present) h2>

The second generation C4 Picasso was unveiled in March 2013, as the Citoghn Technospace concept at the Geneva Motor Show.

The new Picasso C4 is built on the PSA EMP2 platform, which is shared with other PSA vehicles, including the Peugeot 308, the successor to the Peugeot 307. Because the EMP2 platform is much lighter than the first generation PF2, the Picasso C4 offers a lower weight than the smaller CitroÃÆ'Â · C3 Picasso MPV.

The second generation of C4 Picasso has a boot capacity of 537 liters, increased to 630 liters with three rear seats down. The passenger front seat also folded, allowing the vehicle to haul objects along 2.5 meters.

In early 2018, the car was renamed from C4 Picasso to C4 SpaceTourer.

Tools

Depending on the country, the features and equipment available vary accordingly, Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) above the headlights are standard in all EU markets. The vehicle also offers a variety of features including: Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA), Intelligent Traction Control (ITC), and Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Furthermore, the vehicle also has an upgraded lane departure warning system (LDWS) over the previous generation, utilizing digital imaging and line recognition to vibrate the front seatbelts in the Exclusive model and alert the path changes at low speed.

This gives the possibility to awaken or warn the sleeping or disturbed driver. C4 Picasso has a rear-view camera, and an optional 360-degree panoramic vision system consisting of four wide-angle front-mounted cameras, a rear door, and a side mirror to remove blind spots and help with parking. An optional parking assistance system at Picasso, which with the help of installed ultrasonic sensors can determine the parking spaces suitable for a semi-automatic parking experience.

This radar system installed in the same bumper is used for the Active Cruise Control (ACC) feature in Exclusive trim. The radar is able to detect the distance and speed of the vehicle and slow down the vehicle or brake if necessary to avoid collisions. The dashboard user interface is also enhanced, now featuring twelve panoramic color displays that allow for navigation view, and other road assistance tools, with adjustment levels.

The car also receives a touch sensitive 7 "tablet to control navigation systems, carkit, multimedia systems and other infotainment features. The audio system comes with 8 JBL system speakers that are powered by specially designed custom amplifiers, unlike most other Citroen cars that feature an audio system Denon.

The overall reviewers were impressed with the large five-meter squares room inside the vehicle, surrounded by large windows and thin door pillars. RACCars.co.uk is critical of the ETG6 gearbox, echoing previous criticism from other reviewers, but praising the new platform for easily absorbing road imperfections and improving the driving experience.

Security

The second generation C4 Picasso has six airbags by default, with adjustable pressure; two airbags for front, two lateral for passengers, and two side curtain air bags to prevent head injury.

Transmission

Initially, the C4 Picasso model featured a new six-speed automatic six-speed manual gearbox from CitroÃÆ'n, called the "Efficient Tronic Gearbox six speed" (ETG6). This allows the driver to switch, anytime, between manual and automatic mode. Some reviews have been critical of the ETG6 gearbox: Auto Trader calling it "jerky" and slow to react to tooth changes, while CitroenOwnersClub.co.uk called "poor".

At the end of 2015, with the introduction of the BlueHDi engine range, CitroÃÆ'Â nn replaces the ETG6 transmission with Aisin which is sourced from six automatic transmission torque speed converters, known as EAT6.

Four-speed automatic, six-speed ETG and six-speed automatic transmission has two shift options selected by the mode selector mounted in the column: either manually shifted mode of paddle or fully automatic/automatic mode with manual replacement with Formula One style. The ETG/automatic gearbox also comes with an optional air storage compartment (refrigerator) including a tin holder, between the driver's seat and the front passenger, where the manual transmission lever usually is.

The 2 liter liter engine, 1.6 liter e HDi/BlueHDi, and post-2015 gasoline engines feature a start-stop system based on Valeo i-StARS reversible starters/alternators, and are called e-HDi for diesel and e-VTi models for petrol models. Two "ultracapacitors" are charged during braking, and the energy stored in them is used to change i Stars when a machine restart is required.

According to PSA, the system can restart the machine in just 400ms, and while the vehicle is still moving between 8-20 km/h, the conventional starter can not be done. The i-StARS is rated up to 600,000 restart cycles, and PSA claims up to 15% fuel economy. Modifications to prevent engine wear during lethal phase and from constant restart include improved turbocharger lubrication system and reinforcement to injection pump, crankshaft bearings, and double mass rocking wheel.
